Lib Dems celebrate as Marilyn Marshall elected Councillor

Lib Dems surround Marilyn Marshall to support her.

Marilyn was elected to Saltburn, Marske & New Marske Parish Council with 226 votes. Peter Mahan received 109 votes standing as an Independent, though he stood for Labour earlier in the year.

Marilyn will represent the Longbeck Ward, which covers New Marske and part of Marske.

Following her election, Cllr Marilyn Marshall said:

“It’s a great honour to have been elected to serve the people of Marske and New Marske.

“I want to thank all those residents who voted for me. And to those who didn’t, I respect their views and will do my best to be everyone’s councillor.

“I will always make myself available to listen to residents and take up their issues and concerns. My chief concerns are ensuring that the parish council gives value for money and protecting the area against over-development.”
