Local Liberal Democrats have selected veteran campaigner Marilyn Marshall to stand in the parish by-election in the Longbeck Ward of Saltburn, Marske & New Marske Parish Council. The election will be held on 23 November.

Marilyn has a long history of community work in the Markse and Longbeck wards. She has served as vice-chairperson of both the Marske and Longbeck Neighbourhood Action Partnerships (NAP).

Marilyn has worked with Marske in Bloom and local litter pickers, whilst being active in the Neighbourhood Watch. She has also been a Redcar Ambassador, highlighting the positives about living in Redcar and Cleveland Borough.

Most recently Marilyn has joined the Marske Library Community Group. The library faces a reduction in opening hours as the Labour-led council cuts vital community services.

Don't forget to bring photo ID to the polling station on Thursday 23 November.
