Cllr Chris Jones

Chris has been a councillor for West Dyke ward since 2015.

A committed gardener, he regularly upgrades community benches and flower beds.

He is vice-chair of the Growth, Scrutiny and Improvement committee, and a committed member of the Cleveland Police and Crime panel.

Cllr Mary Ovens

Mary Ovens has been a councillor for the West Dyke ward since 1999.She has served on several committees covering education, social care and town planning. She is currently Chair of Scrutiny for Adults and Families. She taught at Rye Hills school until retirement and was a governor until it became academy controlled.

Mary is a Council appointed trustee at Sir William Turner hospital alms houses and the Cleveland Fire Authority. She is an active member of Friends of Boro Park and Redcar Cemetery, and remains committed to supporting the people of West Dyke.

Cllr Malcolm Head

Malcolm has been a Councillor for West Dyke since 2019, and since has been incredibly passionate about helping local residents with issues from bus availability, to supporting local businesses.

He was Deputy Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland from 2022-23, and is currently Mayor having served since May 2023, a position he is incredibly proud of - having been involved in over 50 events between May and August.
