Carole grew up in Marton and has lived in Ormesby ward since 1986. More significant perhaps is that she has been a proud supporter of Boro since 1968! She retired in 2011, after 35 years teaching modern foreign languages and working with SEND children in the secondary sector. She has represented Ormesby ward on the Council since 2016 and was Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland from 2020 – 2022. She is most passionate about involving different members of the community, of all ages, in local projects like knitting groups which raise funds to provide items to local charities or create ceremonial displays at key points in the year. She has long been involved in Friends of Nunthorpe Station and actively campaigns to protect Morten Carr Woods.
